Riverside Mills is a Brownfields site located along the Woonasquatucket
River. Brownfields are dirty, sometimes dangerous places where factories
or other businesses used to operate but have since been abandoned. The
City of Providence is working to clean up the Riverside Mills site so that
it can be used as part of the Woonasquatucket River Greenway. Right now
it is NOT a safe place to walk or play. However, within a few years you
might be able to ride your bike there and have a picnic! Take a look at
how the site looks now and think about how it could look in the near future.
