Lincoln Lace and Braid is a Brownfield site along the Woonasquatucket
River. Brownfields are dirty, sometimes dangerous places where factories
or other businesses used to operate but have since been abandoned. The
City of Providence is working to clean up the Lincoln Lace and Braid site
so that it can be used as part of the Woonasquatucket River Greenway. Right
now it is NOT a safe place to walk or play. However, within a few years
you might be able to ride your bike there and have a picnic! Take a look
at the site as it is today and try and image how it might look in the future.
